Unfortunately, there seems to be no change in the unprecedentedly abnormally low water conditions. In the last week, the river bed has become covered in green filamentous algae. So far as we are aware, this is not the hazardous blue-green algae. Although it might impart some welcome oxygen into the water and give a small measure of shading, I can’t see it being otherwise helpful to young fish and invertebrates. It will eventually make fishing extremely difficult if it persists.
