We must all take care of the fish in the Wye at Monmouth.

Water temperatures in our stretches of the Wye have been borderline critical for fish health. Dissolved oxygen levels today remain high, good.

Our waters remain open for now, but we will be monitoring the situation carefully on a daily basis.

The utmost care must be taken when playing and handling any fish you catch. A strong tackle will minimise the time a fish is played and significantly reduce overall stress to the fish. We strongly recommend that fish be unhooked while still in the water if at all possible. Minimum handling and no photographs. Only release the fish when it is showing decisive signs of trying to swim away.

Please report to us any sick or dead fish you see.

Keep up to date with the situation here or on our Facebook pages.
