This is a scale from an 8 lb plus Treowen carp, the growth rings showing (to me) that this fish appears to be at least 18 years old, perhaps one of the first fish stocked by M & D A S. Not sure exactly when this was. We know that in Brick Kiln Lake, the masses of little rudd outcompete the carp for the available food, so how much would this fish weigh if it had always had plenty of food?
