Access to banks at Vauxhall Fields.

We are aware that the new fencing along the bank top in the lower two meadows is an obstruction to Anglers.

NRW are installing styles to make easier assess over the barbed wire. After some delays, we are now informed that these should be completed in July. The styles are to be positioned to give assess to end and mid-points along the bank of the lower meadow, and, as in the case of the middle meadow, to provide access to most areas where walking along the river’s edge is normally impossible.

We are well aware that the banks will very soon be overgrown with grass and brush and these will need clearing on several occasions during the fishing season. It might be necessary to appoint a leading person and arrange work parties for this involving our members who regularly fish the river Monnow. Volunteers for this will be welcome.
